"On matters of race" by PBS? Is that PBS, as in "Public Broadcasting System"? THAT outfit? The SELFSAME?

(You'll forgive me if I don't click on this one, Dienekes ... I think I'll just pass -- that is, if no one minds ... )

(Uhhhhh ... you feeling OK, Dienekes?)

OK, OK, OK -- I just caved, and looked at it. I glanced at the title page, and clicked on the link about Indians and glanced through that a bit. That's all.

I do not see how anyone can take it seriously.

Dienekes, with all due respect -- that stuff is a joke. It's on the level of Katy Couric and Matt Lauer on "Good Morning America" or whatever it is. You can't be serious.

"...incite feelings of suspicion and accusations of discrimination even in an environment where diversity is recognized as a necessary and desired reality."

I think this quotation says all what is really necessary to know about this.
Maybe race is not even the most important characteristic of individuals, but it is something very important for homogenity and group consciousness.
And on the average it sometimes even says something about individuals.

But the main thing, even if you dont think to much about the genetic interests of the Europids which made this civilization real, the question is, what will be better in a mixed country?

USA made many mistakes and very bad things especially in the last 60 years, but if you ask me, will this country be a better one if it will be melting pot of all races and people of the world?
I'm sure it won't.
Because looking back in history nothing was changing to better for US citizens or the rest of the world from the beginning of the liberalization, family destruction and anti-European tendencies made politics in the US. If you look at the US policy it was just getting dumber and more corrupt than it was decades ago.
This country will be just more fractionized, more corrupt, more arrogant than it was when whites ruled it alone.

Nothing will be better in this "new America", not for the US citizens, not for the white folks, and not for the world.

And Californication for the world will be a) not possible, or b) a living nightmare in which consumption and "fun" are the only things which people are thinking about.
If you have money, no matter how you got it, you are free, if you dont, you are nothing in society of cheap producers and fooled consumers.

This "new America" destroyed every small peace of common sence which existed in the US society before. (it was not too much compared to Europe, but what is left now?)

And every country which got this virus degenerates in the same way.
Its really awful to see how proud cultures and nations in Europe degenerated because they made the idea of a multicultural ultraliberal system to their own.

I think melting pots just got no real common sence at least for a long time at the beginning.
Judging from the US example, they get no anyway...
Group consciousness is really important to produce a useful common sence in a society.
If the US even dont had a common sence like the Europeans in the past, will they get one if they are even more fractionized?
I dont think so, really not.

"Consequently, many young people are more closely identified with the music they hear and fashion they wear than the color of their skin."

Maybe people should not be identified just by the color of their skin, but another question, which "culture" does such a melting pot like "new America" produce?

The philosophy of Antiquity? The music of classic? Maybe a culture of people with a good piece of common sence?
Does it?

The today subculture especially in the hot spots are just the worst thing of modernity.

They are just young consumers, trying to live in the "californian dream" and the most of them dont even think about their neighbors and thats for sure not more about the community or the state.
Or is there more common sence in the US regions were more immigrants live? Interesting point.
What culture is there, how strong is there an idealistic common sence.
Or are they all just egomanic consumers which can be turned into criminals very fast, because if there are no values, the only value of today America is money.
And this "new America" will be just pray to the Mammon to the god of money and dont care about anything else.
I see not way to establish a more progressive society in US if its a melting pot, if it was even difficult to do so in the past when the people were more homogenous.
